Mission & Vision
To provide sustainable programs that generate positive change for Nigerian children and their communities.
The vision of A2S is that each child/person in Nigeria finds a dignified path to a successful life and is empowered to live out God’s plan for a future filled with hope.
Essential to communities being lifted out of poverty are holistic programs that address not just the physical needs of currently struggling communities but their spiritual and psychological needs. A2S envisions communities in which individuals can be productive members of society, living with mutual respect and love for one another.
The vision of the After School Academy is to transform and empower the lives of Nigerian children through academics and athletics, increasing the percentage of students who achieve higher levels of education and thereby reducing poverty in Nigeria.
Essential in helping young people achieve their goals are education, leadership and teamwork skills, faith, and community and family support. A2S envisions a future where no child is not in school due to socioeconomic reasons. We aim to provide holistic ministry to create long-term, sustainable growth by working in communities with local support.
Our Core Values:
Focus: We remain focused on stories, not numbers.
Integrity: We are constantly mindful of how we present the needs of others when working with our benefactors and beneficiaries.
Impact: We are committed to impacting lives and not space.
Sustainable: We aim to bring about purposeful, long-term change in the lives of those we support.
Servanthood: We serve with humility, innovation, consistency, transparency, and urgency as inspired by the unconditional love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Statement of Ministry:
Access to Success (A2S) is a non-denominational, Christian non-profit organization. A2S is dedicated to playing its part to eliminate poverty and provide hope through educational, athletic and spiritual based initiatives. Our ministry was founded on the premise that every child and youth should have an opportunity to dream, irrespective of location. We believe that access to education, sports or after-school activities, and growth opportunities should be basic rights for all.
A2S does not discriminate or turn people away because Christ welcomed all. Everyone who is touched by what we do and wants to be a part of this work is welcome regardless of background or religious preference. Children in need are of diverse backgrounds and religion; our policy supports providing hope and promoting change irrespective of race or religion. We embrace supporters and volunteers from all backgrounds.
At A2S, our motivation stems from Jeremiah 29:11 that says “For I know the plans I have for you, ‘declares the Lord’ plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Our ministry and approach hinge on a few major theological concepts. We are inspired by examples set by our Lord Jesus Christ who blessed many by loving them unconditionally. The A2S ministry follows the teachings of Jesus who instructed us to be not only “hearers but doers.” We profess our faith but have a deeply rooted conviction that our works should justify our faith. To this effect, we operate a hands-on approach of expressing love through action. A2S ministry acts by providing year round educational and entrepreneurial opportunities, feeding programs and other community based initiatives to help provide hope and a future to those who are not as fortunate as we are.
