From Our U.S. Scholars To Their Host Fathers

To My Host Fathers. From: Uchechi

Dear Mr. Larry

You are such an amazing Dad! Over the past couple of years, you have stepped into the fatherly role, from teaching me how to drive to constantly checking to see if I am okay. I know you’re always so humble, but you deserve an award or something! For so many things! You are always there, willing to help like an archangel, sometimes even without me asking. I don’t know how I would make it this far without your help and advice. I love you, and I appreciate everything you do. Happy Father’s Day.

Dear Mr. Cook

You’re outstanding in everything you do! I don’t think I could ever repay you for everything you have done, but I want to say thank you. Thank you for listening and giving me advice during our drive to school. Thank you for accepting me into your home and for your unconditional support, encouragement, and love. Thank you for your time. Seeing you at my games, graduations, and at home for dinner made me feel like a priority in your life. Being so far away from home, you made it easy to focus on my dreams without feeling like a stranger. Thank you so much. Happy Father’s day.

Dear Andrew,

I just wanted to let you know that I love you so much, and I am so grateful to be blessed with you as my host dad. I admire everything you do. By far, you are the most influential person in my life. You set your goals high, and you accomplish them no matter how hard or impossible they seem. Your determination is commendable. I’ve always looked up to you, tried to be like you, and be my own person the way you are. I don’t think I have made any decision without considering what you would do or not do. You never follow the crowd, and you do what you believe is right. Especially with your faith, I’ve taken that trait from you. You motivate me to do my best in everything, and your wisdom is so valuable and appreciated. I want to wish you a Happy Fathers Day, the Abraham of our time (father of nations).

To: Mr. Frank – From Iffy

Dear Mr. Frank,

Thank you for your love and support since the very first day you welcomed me into your home. Thank you for pushing me to become a better athlete and, most importantly, a better person. Thank you for the advice and assistance you’ve constantly given me. Thank you for being a pillar of our family and for the hard work you do every day to support our family. Words cannot describe how much I appreciate you.

Have a wonderful Father’s Day

Love ❤️ you!

To: My Host Father. From: Eseosa

Roses are red, and violets are blue. Words are not enough to describe how grateful I am for you. It is such a blessing to have a host father like you. Thank you for all of the love, care, and support you show me and bring to my life since the day you accepted me into your home. Thank you so much for taking me in as your child. It is hard being away from all your friends, family, and loved ones as an international student. But you brought me into your home with open hands and have been one of my biggest cheerleaders since the first day we met. You are a great dad, host dad, husband, son, brother, and uncle. My parents are 100% comfortable because I have a Christian host dad like you who would lead me on the Godly path in life. I’m so grateful that I can cross paths with you and your family by God’s will. I am also so thankful to call you my host dad. It is a thing of joy to be cared for and brought up by such an amazing man like yourself.

As we celebrate Fathers Day today, we are reminded that our earthly fathers are given to us by God to be our caretakers who will help us to grow both spiritually, emotionally, physically, academically, and otherwise. Although I may not be your actual biological daughter, never have you made me feel that way, nor have you ever made me feel like a stranger. I appreciate every tiny thing you do for me, from praying for me to coming to my basketball games and just being there as fatherly and moral support.

Happy Father’s Day!!!

To: Uncle Andrew. From: Jennifer

Happy Father’s Day! I am so thankful for all you have done for me, and I will forever be grateful. You have done so much for me throughout the years, and I won’t be here today if not for you. Throughout my journey in the United States, you have been there to offer guidance, support, love, and insight. Your dream to help others and help them dream big is part of the reason why I am here today. You have been there to celebrate and cheered me on every milestone in my life and have acted as a father figure since I stepped foot in the United States. Kids and youths in Nigeria are inspired and look up to you, and I hope you know how much hope and light you have brought to so many lives. Your constant dedication to help others is admirable, and you are always thinking of new ways to bring hope and better ways to serve the kids and youth in Nigeria. It takes a special someone to do what you do, and thank you for touching so many lives! Osas and Ese are very lucky because they have a great example to follow and someone to nurture them in the right way as they grow up. Thank you for everything you have done for me and for always being there for me along my journey. Osas, Ese, and I are very thankful for all you do for us all this father’s day. We love you, and we hope it is the best Father’s Day yet for you! I hope you feel appreciated today and every day because you truly deserve it.

From Osas: Happy Father’s Day, Daddy. You are the greatest daddy in the whole wide world. I love you so much, and you are my hero.
