Meet Emmanuel, a future teacher
“Attending the A2S Hoops for Hope Basketball and Empowerment Camps over the years has helped me increase my confidence level and up my game,” – Emmanuel, A2S Scholar
When you see Emmanuel, you have witnessed the apogee of God’s favor and unending blessings. Prior to enrolling in the Access to Success Scholars Program, Emmanuel’s hope for a hitch-free education was only a pipe dream. Being the oldest of his three siblings, it is particularly important to him to succeed and set a good example for his siblings. As a result, one of his lifelong goals is to graduate from Michael Okpara University with a first-class degree in Computer Science Education and work as a professional or educator in the field. |

When Emmanuel learned about the A2S Scholars Program for the first time on the basketball court while participating in the A2S Hoops for Hope Basketball and Empowerment Camp, he saw it as a unique opportunity. He prayed and prepared for the entrance exams, and was overjoyed to be accepted into the program. Since that time, things have only gotten better. |

Emmanuel is usually quiet and reserved, but being a part of the Scholars Program has given him the confidence to speak up more. He says that Access to Success’s founder, Andrew Lovedale, is a man of wisdom. His readiness to help and impact others regardless of their background is commendable; he looks forward to learning a lot from him as time goes on. Given that some of the After School Academy students struggle with math, Emmanuel wants to give his time whenever he has any free time to tutor the kids in the subject. “Attending the A2S Hoops for Hope Basketball and Empowerment Camps over the years has helped me increase my confidence level and up my game, and in 2022, I received the leadership award,” Emmanuel said as evidence. |

The best part of being a scholar, according to Emmanuel, is that it keeps him motivated and focused on doing better to get a good grade in order to be revalidated. He also appreciates how they are being taken care of. The Christmas package was one of the surprises his family received, his parents thought it was a small package, but it was a months worth of food items. |
|
Emmanuel is a strong believer in the precepts of God and prays for a closer relationship with God and has seen God move mountains for him and made a way where there seem to be no way. Before Emmanuel got admission into university, he was a secondary school teacher. He also helped his parents at home with chores and made artwork during his spare time. |
|
If he could speak to the entire world, he would tell everyone to love one another and treat one another with compassion, just as God commanded. |
