We’re excited to introduce our new Communications Coordinator, Omotayo! But you can call her Tayo. She’s both passionate about the A2S mission and has the skills in photography, videography, and writing to back it up. You can expect to see her and the A2S Media club working together to bring you the latest sights and news from on the ground in Nigeria. We’re so grateful to have her on the team! Meet Kosi!
At 11 years old, optimistic Kosi steals our hearts with a soul filled with an unimaginable level of hope. Born into a family of 6, this little sweet soul has a passion for taking care of people. It’s no surprise she wants to be a medical doctor: a profession that comes with compassion and dedication, attributes which she exhibits effortlessly.
Raised with no silver spoon, Kosi was raised alongside her siblings by their trader parents. Kosi shows so much interest in mathematics, and she considers her father a role model, one who she says ensures that she understands all she has been taught.
Kosi is hopeful for a positive change for her parents, as this will change their lives for the better. She hopes that someday her community will enjoy good amenities like electricity and security. The Rutledge Johnson Library is her favorite place to be in the After School Academy.
Her family time has contributed greatly to her relationship with God. The Bible is her favorite book; she constantly looks forward to bible quizzes and the family quiet time. Whenever she thinks about Jesus, she always imagined what He looked like, and how He was here on earth. He guides her and helps her understand how to live a purposeful life.
Kosi makes her contribution to the welfare of the house by ensuring that they never run out of water, which she fetches from her neighborhood. She strongly believes that if she focuses on her education she would be able to do much more than getting water, becoming successful and assisting her parents. She is grateful for the gift of Access to Success, which has brought her closer to the future she imagines, and for her best friend, Alabi Victoria, who ensures she never stops laughing and always stays happy.
We want to offer a heartfelt thank you for your love and consistency through FaithFuel. Your monthly contributions provide essential support to children like Kosi, shaping their journeys at the After School Academy. The consistency of a monthly gift and the power of your prayers helps hundreds of kids like Kosi build agency at the After School Academy each day. As our kids grow older, our hope is to restore one of God’s greatest gifts- the gift of choice- so that each individual can follow their path to fulfilling God’s purpose for their lives.
