This excerpt was taken from A2S 2026 Summer Intern Charlotte Duggan’s reflections following her Vision Trip to Nigeria in June of 2026.

My name is Charlotte Duggan, and I had the privilege of serving as an intern with Access to Success during the summer of 2026. This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Nigeria for the Summer Vision Trip—an experience that deeply changed my perspective on life.

From the moment we arrived, I was blown away by the organization of the programs and, most of all, by the overwhelming love of the local staff. Walking into the youth center, you are welcomed with open arms by a team that makes you feel instantly at home.

Throughout the trip, I was moved by the stories I heard, the children I met, and the bittersweet feeling of saying goodbye. Most of all, I was inspired by the community’s love for Christ. Seeing the children light up during worship challenged me to be bolder and more confident in my own faith and walk with God.

Since returning home, I’ve reflected on how easily we can take everyday blessings for granted. This trip taught me to practice deeper gratitude and reminded me that what we truly need is God and a community that encourages us. That is exactly what A2S provides for these children every single day, and I am incredibly grateful to have experienced it firsthand.
