Accomplished executive, strategist, and longtime A2S supporter joins the organization during a pivotal season of growth

Access to Success Foundation (A2S) is pleased to announce the appointment of Bill Satterwhite, JD, MD, CPE, as Director of Development. He is an important addition to the organization’s leadership as A2S prepares for its next chapter of growth and impact.

Dr. Satterwhite brings decades of experience spanning medicine, law, healthcare executive leadership, entrepreneurship, consulting, and organizational transformation. Most recently, he has served as a Principal with a large international consulting company advising healthcare organizations on strategy, leadership, performance improvement, and innovation.

His move to A2S represents more than a professional transition. It is an intentional decision to bring the experience, relationships, and leadership developed throughout an accomplished career into service of a mission he already knows, supports, and believes in.

“The Lord has called me up and out of the corporate world and into a ministry that I know well and deeply respect. As a pediatrician, I have a heart for seeing children flourish in all areas of life, including health, spiritual growth, and economic opportunity. A2S, therefore, is the perfect match for me. I look forward to working with Andrew and others to continue to expand their ministry of global impact” said Dr. Satterwhite.

“At this stage of A2S, we need an architect before we need a builder,” said Andrew Lovedale, Founder and President of A2S. “Dr. Satterwhite has spent his career thinking strategically, building systems, leading people, and stewarding relationships. More importantly, he is someone we trust and someone who understands the heart of this mission.”

Dr. Satterwhite earned his undergraduate degree from Davidson College, his Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law, and his medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He is a board-certified pediatrician, licensed attorney, and Certified Physician Executive whose career has included healthcare executive leadership, practicing medicine and law, entrepreneurship, consulting, and keynote speaker at national events.

As Director of Development, Dr. Satterwhite will lead A2S’s efforts to deepen relationships with its existing community of supporters while growing the network of individuals, churches, foundations, corporations, and partners who want to invest in the potential of young people in Nigeria. He will also help build the strategy, culture, systems, and team needed to sustain A2S’s long-term vision.

The appointment comes at a pivotal moment for A2S. What began with a desire to create opportunities for young people in Nigeria has grown into a Christ-centered organization investing in education, career development, entrepreneurship, wellness, and community empowerment. As that work continues to grow, so must the community of people committed to making it possible.

The appointment also reflects a longstanding personal connection to A2S. Dr. Satterwhite and Lovedale are both Davidson College alumni, worship at Storyhill Church, and have developed a relationship grounded in shared faith and a desire to steward their lives for something greater than themselves. Dr. Satterwhite was also an A2S supporter before accepting the position.

For A2S, development is about much more than fundraising. It is about inviting people into meaningful partnership and helping them discover how God may be calling them to participate in the work. Dr. Satterwhite’s combination of strategic leadership, organizational experience, credibility, and relational approach positions him to help A2S deepen that philosophy as the organization grows.

His experience outside traditional nonprofit development is also viewed as a strength. Throughout his career, Dr. Satterwhite has navigated complex organizations, developed leaders, built relationships, strengthened systems, and helped institutions prepare for growth and change. A2S believes those experiences have uniquely prepared him to help build a development operation capable of stewarding both the organization’s relationships and its long-term vision.

“We have been blessed by an extraordinary community that has carried A2S this far,” Lovedale said. “This next chapter is about stewarding those relationships well while inviting many more people into the story. Dr. Satterwhite brings the wisdom, credibility, faith, and relational heart we need for this season, and we are excited to build alongside him and see what God does.”
